On 5-8-99 in Miami he TKO’d Roberto Nunez in the 1st round... ANOTHER BEST WIN - on 10-23-98 in Atlantic City he won a 10 round unanimous decision against tough Fred Curiel (14-3-1): Hector built a lead in the early rounds but coasted through the second half of the fight; scored 95-93, 96-93, 96-92... On 7-11-98 in San Antonio he had the biggest scare of his career against journeyman Troy Crain (14-8): Hector dominated the first 5 rounds, but Crain scored a knockdown in the last 30 seconds of the 6th; Hector was very shaky, but managed to survive until the final bell and won a 6 round majority decision...
